Pete Lay is a founding partner of Adams • Landenwich • Walton.
He has been working with many of his current partners since his admission
to the bar in 2013. Pete has had an incredibly active trial practice, acting as
co-counsel or lead counsel in at least 25 jury trials within the first seven years of practice. Not only a trial lawyer, Pete has represented many civil and criminal clients toward successful resolution of their cases in the courtroom or the boardroom.
Pete grew up in Northeast Ohio, and after graduating with honors from Butler University and graduating cum laude from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, he and his wife have made Louisville their home where they have been happily married for the last twelve years.

Recent Verdicts & Settlements
Estate of Chance Brooks et. al. vs. Louisville SW Hotel, LLC et. al., $3.2 million dollar jury verdict for wrongful death. The Court of Appeals has recently ordered a second trial for three separate categories of damages so the original verdict amount is expected to grow.
King v. Harwood, Pete Lay along with David Ward and Thomas Clay represented Susan King who received a $750,000 settlement for a malicious prosecution case where King was accused of the murder of an ex-boyfriend. After spending nearly five years in prison, King was exonerated after the actual murderer was discovered.
Hunter v. Zielke Law Firm, PLLC, et al., an $85,000 jury verdict for breach of contract related to an unfulfilled attorney fee agreement.
